MIDWEST LAW ENFORCEMENT CONFERENCE ON GANGS AND DRUGS
Since 1994 the Wichita Crime Commission, in partnership with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireman and Explosives, Sedgwick County Sheriff, Wichita Police Department, U.S. Attorney and District Attorney have produced the most in-depth training program, of its kind, offered law enforcement officers in the entire Midwest.
Each year, for two and ½ days, more than 175 law enforcement officials from Kansas and surrounding states hear from some of the top criminal justice instructors in the United States. The conference is certified by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center making it eligible for 20 hours of continuing education credit for Kansas Law Enforcement Officers. Through 2006 the conference has trained almost 1800 law enforcement officers statewide in the areas of gangs and drugs. The sixteenth annual conference is scheduled for June 7-8-9, 2010 at the Hilton Wichita Airport Hotel.
