WMCC HOSTS TEEN DRUG SUMMIT

Over 300 middle and high school students attended a Teen Drug Summit on October 31.  Hosted by the WMCC, DEA, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office and Wichita Police Department, students heard from speakers on the dangers of vaping and other drug issues.  A vendor area provided the opportunity to talk one-on-one with a wide variety of community partners.  Special thanks to WMCC member Bill Ard who graciously underwrote all the costs for the Summit.

Feedback from Goddard High School teacher:

I wanted to let you know that my students enjoyed themselves at the Teen Drug Summit.  Not only did they have fun with the other students but walked away from the summit with  some valuable information.  The summit made a big enough impression that the kids  talked to their parents about the summit  I received several e-mails from parents thanking me for taking the kids to your event.

Thank you again for inviting us to the Teen Drug Summit.

Have a great day
